We had a great night at the bootlegger, although the evening didn’t seem to be managed by anyone?
No one was overlooking the night, checking the running of the bar or music.
The live band finished really early in the evening and having gone from one bar to the next to listen the music we found the band had already finished.
The queue for the bar was insane, no additional staff has been put on considering it was a ticketed event and new years. At one point i timed queueing for the bar at 45mins even though the queue wasn’t that big. The downstairs staff seemed oblivious to the time people were waiting and I could clearly see that one of them especially wasn’t rushing at all.
The woman upstairs was a great at her job and worked her arse off, but she so clearly needed help with the quantity of drinks she’s needed to make.
Just to mention I’ve managed and worked in many bars myself and understand the running of them.
So to summarise, it was a great venue and we did have a good night but it was badly managed and understaffed.
I understand the time it takes to create quality cocktails but the wait was totally unnecessary if the night had been better planned and managed.
